Slayr is one of the most important artists of 2026. I feel like he has had a huge influence on many people's styles ever since he came into widespread appeal in 2026. Halfblood / Bloodluxe is a 10/10 for me, and I know that’s crazy to say, but just hear me out. I have been listening to rap for years and have never heard an album that has had this much of an impact on me ever—like, ever. Music critics are a lie; Halfblood and Bloodluxe overfed me and made me fat for a good 4–5 months. While I saw everyone else moving on, I kept listening to it—not because I forced myself to, but because I really liked it, like a lot, and I was addicted. As many sources say, he is a creative person. He is just a crazy pioneer in what he does, like I can’t even describe it.
One of the main reasons Halfblood / Bloodluxe is so appealing is because it’s a journey of audio, not an album. It shows the ups and downs in someone’s life journey and how love, money, fame, and drugs can change someone in your life or yourself. It’s not a journey through life; it’s a journey through the present and future, not the past at all. I feel like Slayr knows the money can’t change him. I feel like he’s the new generation's J. Cole of humbleness, and he is an angel for not pretending to be someone else. He is an inspiration to me and this generation. No matter if someone says he is "burger music," he stays true to himself.
This is not obsession or glaze; this is telling my story of an album that quite literally helped me get through the hard moments in life. The rest of the rage and rap scene can’t seem to leave a major impact like this, at least in our current decade. Now, for me, this is the TPAB (To Pimp a Butterfly) of my generation, and this is coming from a young 15-year-old who is typing this right now in Apple Notes while listening to Slayr. I wish people would just understand that it is not a crazy thing to be "glazing" this hard.
As a music artist myself, I am now glad I am not making Juice WRLD-style sad music anymore. I’m glad that I now make music—not like Slayr, but in a way that is just as happy as his music is. I’m not just a Halfblood glazer, either; I think Heaventunes and Gaia 2 are amazing, incredible albums. "Rightfrmwrong," "First Time Critique," "5starhotel," "Tell Yourfriend," and "Childish" are amazing, notable songs that were incredibly lyrical. I would give Heaventunes a 7.5/10 and Gaia 2 a 7.2/10. Gaia (aka Gaia 1) is definitely a stretch for me; I'm not a big fan of it, but I would still give it a 4.9/10, though.
Well, that’s a wrap. I’m glad I got to write this and share my thoughts on Slayr, as he is a notable music artist both in my life and in the industry. ❤️
